Ozzy paced back and forth in the garden. He had been off since the blackout and had been unable to shake this feeling. He had decided by now that he was feeling love at first site. He had always thought that it was a joke and could never actually happen but it was real and it had happened to HIM. He had never expected this to happen and now it had. And Ozzy had done the one thing he could think to do. He had written a short note to Kim telling her how he felt. But there was one problem. Ozzy had yet to get up the nerve to give it to her. And so Ozzy was pacing back and forth as he tried to figure out how to get the nerve up to talk to Kim long enough to give her the note. He knew the dance was coming up and he knew he would want to take her. But he also felt like he had no chance and he didn't want to even try if he was going to be rejected and forgotten once again. He was conflicted and his mind fought with itself as he walked among the winter flowers and the remains of the rose bushes. Although Ozzy had no clue what to do, he hoped that Kim would just appear so that he would have to face her. Maybe than he'd get up the nerve to give her the note and get to see her again. He hadn't been able to look at her since the blackout as his heart would begin to beat out of control. Love. How is this healthy. How do people not have heart attacks trying to figure out what their speeding heart wants. How do human beings handle love? I don't get it Ozzy was so confused and stressed he did not hear anything going on around him or see anyone. It was as if Ozzy was in his own world and right now it was being thrown upside down and topsyturvy. He was to distracted to notice anything as he sat down and put his heads in his hands. As he did this, his note flew out of his hands and Ozzy began chasing after it. It landed on the ground but Ozzy didn't realize this until after he had ran into someone else walking among the flowers. Ozzy fell backwards and was more confused by what had just happened. He sat there rubbing his head and looking around for the note he did not see. Little did he know that it was now in someone's hands, let alone the person it was meant for. yensidacademy.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=notes&thread=1367

It was still chilly outside, but Kim actually liked it that way. She had spent the last hour with her cheerleading squad, who all seemed rather excited about the dance coming up. There had been giggling about who was "totally gorgeous" and who they wanted to ask them out. Kim had chatted about the event along with them when they were changing out of their practice clothes. She still wasn't sure about anything for the dance. What was she going to wear? Who was she going to go with? Every last detail was crucial for a woman her age.
The questions danced around in her head as she walked down the path of the gardens. Despite the fact that few plants were growing, it was still beautiful. The fountains were frozen over, and the ice made the stone look like marble and granite texture-wise. She was about to take a seat when she saw something fluttering her direction and landing a couple inches away from her foot. She stepped on what looked like a folded up piece of paper and picked it up.
As she straightened, she noticed a figure hurtling towards her, no doubt the owner of the lost object. "Look ou-" she started to say, but it was too late. After they made contact, she managed to keep her balance, but the other person wasn't so lucky. She was about to say something when she noticed the note in her hand was addressed to her. She glanced back down at Ozzy, who appeared confused, before opening the letter and reading it.
"You wrote this?" she asked, looking up from the page and at Ozzy, who was still looking for something. It was meant for her eyes, right? That was why it had her name on it. "Are you alright?"

Ozzy looked up and horror filled is face behind his sunglasses. Kimberly had the letter. Well at least now he didn't have to worry about how to give her the letter. It had landed in her hands for him. Whether this was a good thing or a bad thing he wasn't quite sure but hat was done was done and he could't change it now. And so he got up and dusted himself off.
Ozzy blushed at the mention of the note and was silent for a moment. Than he replied, "I'm fine and... yea I wrote that. I'll leave you alone now if you want. I just... just wanted you to know. So yea... Ozzy trailed off not sure what else to say. He had a bad feeling he would be rejected and he didn't want to hear it.
Ozzy went and sat once more, returning to the spot that had caused this to happen. He was embarrassed yet relieved yet depressed... He was confused. And so he sat, head in his hands, and sighed.

Kim's eyes scanned the note again. She looked up at Ozzy, who had started to walk away. "Hey! Where are you going?" she called, catching up and taking a seat next to him. "Do you usually just drop paper on the ground and run away? That's called littering, and it's actually pretty rude."
She gave him a teasing smile and leaned over to see his face, but it was covered by his hands. He was quiet... as usual. She pulled her jacket tighter around her. "What are you doing out here in the cold, anyway? The garden's hardly the best hang out spot when it's thirty degrees outside, you know?"
"You know, I only have one problem with your letter," she said, holding it up in front of him. "It wasn't very specific. Somewhere? Sometime? How is a girl supposed to make any plans with such little detail?"

Ozzy was embarrassed and his face was a bright red. As Kim began responding to his reaction he grew a brighter shade of red. He had been cowardly and ran and she was poking fun at him for it. What had made him think that she wouldn't follow him if he ran. He had been dumb and she was only proving this. When Kim began to shiver, he felt worse for her being out here and so he shrugged off his jacket and placed it around her shoulders. "Please don't freeze on my part." he added as he did so.
Ozzy was silent for some time as he thought of how he should respond. Finally he spoke, quietly at first and slowly becoming louder and more audible. "I came out here to think in the silence. I was trying to figure out how to give this to you and than it just kind of.. well it made its way to you on its own I guess. It's embarrassing I know and you probably think I'm silly.
Ozzy fell silent, trailing off mid sentence as the words she had spoken began to register. She had asked about specifics. If she had thought this was all just a big joke and he was dumb, why would she be asking about specifics. Maybe he did have a chance? Only one way to find out. Ad so Ozzy uttered questioningly, "You want to give me a chance? as he looked up and into Kim's bright eyes and beautiful face once more. His heart skipped a beat from excitement at the thought of having a chance. He smiled ever so slightly before returning to his usual composure but his eyes never left Kim's face as he waited for her reply, hoping with every fiber of his being that it would be good.

Kim smiled and accepted Ozzy's jacket. She was trying not to laugh, but the boy just seemed so dense sometimes. She sat, watching him and his adorable doubtfulness with a small smile on her face. He still hadn't been able to take the hint, and it was difficult to keep a straight face. Her crooked smile was visible on her lips and her red hair was draped over one of her eyes. She gently pushed it back and listened to Ozzy and his nervous ranting.
"Do you want me to be honest?" Kim asked, raising an eyebrow. "I do think you're silly." She gave a small laugh. "Silly for getting so worked up about me receiving the note that you were going to give me anyway. Don't you think it's a good thing I got it? That way you didn't have to worry about it anymore."
Finally, he was looking at her again, and she still had the crooked smile on her face. "Of course I'm going to give you a chance." There was a small smile on Ozzy's face, but only for a moment. "You know, you're much cuter when you smile, Ozzy," Kim pointed out.

Ozzy's face sunk a bit as she laughed and said how silly he was. He knew it was a rediculous reaction but he wasn't used to being noticed, let alone being noticed by a girl in a good way. How was he supposed to react? He spoke slowly as he tried to make sense. "I... I've never had a girl really like me. I never had close mates either. I didn't know how to react..." He fell silent for a moment before taking a deep breath and adding a bit more confidently "Although I have to agree, I guess what happened was lucky and good... I'm glad it did.
Ozzy rang his hands over and over again in his lap as he listened to Kim. He couldn't help but chuckle at her comment. " I've never been good with specifics either mate... or smiling. Ozzy's slight smile returned. Although I'll try to smile more if you like it. Ozzy was overjoyed. He had a chance with a girl! A pretty, sweet, REAL girl. He had to be dreaming.
Ozzy knew where he wanted to take her but he had a feeling she would already have been asked by someone else. But since luck seemed to finally be shining on him, he decided he had to at least try something. He didn't want to be the sad and scared "bunny" forever and he had to take the first step sometime. Now was as good as ever. And so Ozzy sighed a bit to calm his nerves before looking at Kim once more and saying, I was wondering... although you probably already have someone. Um... well. I was wondering if you are going to the Valentine's dance here. I know it's a special day for girls.... and I'd love to be you're dance partner... or something... if you want... or we could do something else. Although Ozzy had started out strong, he had slowly gotten quieter and more mumbled as his confidence fell as he spoke. He had tried (and failed) to ask a girl out without sounding silly. And so his eyes fell to the floor once more and his face fell back to its usual sad and depressing look. You idiot. Why would she say yes now. Ozzy yelled at himself internally as he waited, expecting a no and prepared to jump up and run at a moments notice.

He didn't know how to react? That was definitely a way several other people she knew would react, and it didn't really have anything to do with not having many friends. It had to do with being embarrassed. She pushed her hair out from in front of her face and smiled. "I'm glad you're glad," she told him. A small laugh escaped her lips when he smiled again. "Good. That's much better."
Ozzy asked her to the dance and she gave a small frown. Not at him, of course, but because she still didn't know what she was going to wear. That was the only thing she still needed to take care of before she was ready.
"I almost forgot about the dance," she said to herself, though it wasn't the complete truth. She had been excited about it, and now she was going to have a date for it. Nothing made her happier. "I'd love to go to the dance with you," she answered. "Do you know how to dance? The waltz?" she asked, hopefully. Very few people actually knew how to dance without just swaying back and forth. Very few were proficient in the art. If he knew how, she would be genuinely impressed.
