Professor Jinn sat on the edge of the stage watching as the students filed in and waited for a few more to come in.
"Grab a sheet and fill it out. When we call your name come up to the front and hand us the sheet. Thank you."
She jumped off the stage and repeated this a few more times before going to the table with the other teachers. "Five minutes till we start!!" She yelled and looked around the auditorium. A good crowd. She couldn't wait to see what they had.
This show promised to be good. The costumes would certainly be fabulous. She waved at a few students whom she knew very well and sat back in her chair after organizing her papers.
The sheet:
Name: Grade: Part Auditioning for: Song choice: Conflicts:
OOC: words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words words.

[OOC: Can I just say "OMG IT'S ANGEL!!!!!!!"] Kelsey skipped into the theatre, so excited about the auditions that she'd completely forgone changing out of her uniform. Her tie bounced merrily against her bosom as she raced down through the seats. She had waited all semester for this moment: the spring musical. It was the highlight of her school year, the entire reason she dragged herself through her core classes every day.
She raced down to the table and grabbed one of the forms, eagerly scribbling in the infomation needed. Her script was rushed, but still retained the elegant swirls she always had a tendency to write with. She held it up to the light and read over it again, then erased and rewrote it. This process was repeated multiple times until she was satisfied. It read:
Name: Kelsey Vix Grade: 11th Part Auditioning for: Dorothy/Glinda the Good Witch Song choice: "Grizabella" - Cats Conflicts: N/A
She smiled to herself and handed the form to Professor Jinn, nodding politely, and hopped up onto the stage, sitting cross-legged on the floor next to another student she didn't recognize. She flashed him an excited grin.
"Hiya. Kelsey Vix. Are you auditioning, too? What part are you going for? Isn't this going to be fun?" she rambled excitedly.

Spencer hurried into the theater. She was running behind a little and couldn't wait to audition. After much thought, Spencer had decided to take a go for it and try out for one of the lead roles, Evillene. The Wicked Witch of the West. She knew it was a long-shot but she had to try right? She noticed clusters of students spread out among the red velvet cushion seats. Spencer spotted the sheet she was suppose to fill out. She grabbed on and plopped down into a seat surround by dozens of empty ones. Spencer peered at the sheet and began to fill it in.
Name: Spencer Phoenix Grade: Junior- 11th Part Auditioning for: Evilene Song choice: The Climb- Miley Cyrus Conflicts: N/A
Spencer wasn't really fond of the song she had chosen but it was the best one she had heard that could demonstrate her vocal range. She put her arms on the plastics arm rest. Her fair skin was turning paler by the minute as she waited for her name to be called.

Thomas ran toward the theater jumping a bench and a hedge or two on the way. Normally, he wouldn't be so rushed, but the one thing he did not want to do was miss the auditions for the school musical. He had heard it was going to be The Wiz, a musical that he happened to be familiar with. He could barely contain his excitement, and he nearly ran straight into the door of the theater. Skidding to a halt, he braced his hands in front of him for impact. Luckily, he had stopped in time, and he only slightly bumped the door. He stepped back and pulled the door open before rushing inside. He dropped his worn book bag behind a chair near the door before walking over and grabbing a sheet of paper he needed to fill out. He looked down at it and tried to decide on a song to sing. Finally, he just wrote one he knew he could sing with his own twist on it. He looked at the sheet of paper before flashing a satisfied smile.
Name: Thomas O'Malley Grade: 10 Part Auditioning for: Scarecrow Song choice: Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson Conflicts: None
Thomas looked over to Professor Jinn, who was directing the students to wait for their names to be called. He sat down on the ground near a red-haired girl and a guy he hadn't met before and waited to hear his name.

Lillith moved into the room she loved music, everything about music, yet she hated being around so many people but she would deal with it for now. She moved into the room and listened as the professor told them to fill out their papers and wait for their name to be called.
She quickly jotted down the information in blood red ink,
Name: Lillith Bügian Grade: 10 Part Auditioning for: Wicked Witch of the West Song choice: Make Me Wanna Die - The Pretty Reckless Conflicts: none
Her red scrawl swirled on the paper before she handed it over and stood near the stage tossing one die into the air and catching it before she tossed up the next one catching it as well and she just kept doing it ignoring the other students there as she waited for her name. She looked at them as the others talked her eyes rolling, what was it with this whole "friend" thing, sure she had business partners and people she could get things from but she wouldn't call them friends by any means.
She gave in involuntary shudder and started to drag one die around the other in a circle around her palm at least she was pretty sue she was the only one that when for the "bad guy" she was a shoe in.

Looking around the theatre Ariel walked in. She had to try out, daddy insisted. But she wanted to even if she didn't want to admit it. She was so excited. Seeing Garth she bounced. GARTH!!! She walked over to him and smiled waving silently.
She didn't know what she wanted to sing, she had a few ideas. She sat down in a chair and thought. What was perfect for this show. Something jazzy, and big. She realized she knew just the song. She was going to sing Rolling in the Deep. She loved Adele, she was one of her favorite singers.
She went up and grabbed a sheet and went back to fill it out. Realizing she didn't have a pen she went digging through her bag. Where was her pen. Her bag was filled with stuff. She was such a bag lady. She kept like everything. Well not everything, like everything. It was ridiculous. Finally at the very bottom of a bag was a pen. It didn't work. Why did she keep a pen that didn't work. She kept looking. A blue pen. Fantastic. She began to fill it out.
Name: Ariel Adamaris Grade: Junior Part Auditioning for: Dorothy/Addaperle Song choice: Rolling in the Deep Conflicts: Swimming

The twins entered the theatre, cell phones out and matching Coach purses over their shoulders. They sauntered down to the front of the theatre where everyone seemed to be congregating and looked up just long enough to receive a sheet before returning to their cell phones, fingers flying over the screen. They seemed quite uninterested in the whole fiasco but in reality they were both nervous and excited. They had never auditioned before but someone had said they should sing "Far Far Away" so they had decided to audition.
They placed their bags down and Deeana took out a pink pen so they could fill out the sheet.
Name: Deeana and Dumali Tweedy Grade: Why do you need to know how we're doing in school? Part Auditioning for: Magipearl and Galinda Song choice: Anything you can do- Annie Get Your Gun Conflicts: uhhh... only if Victoria says so.
Once they had finished, they picked their purses up once more, placed the paper on the table and went to sit and text some more. Texting was their nervous habit and so the longer they sat the more useless and pointless texts they sent. Victoria would be angry when she saw this but for now, they were more worried about the auditions than her. Besides, she seemed to be running late. Maybe she had died on the way, in which case the twins's funerals would be delayed.

Mini came out from behind the curtain. She had been watching, bouncing eagerly. She was so nervous, but excited too. She LOVED The Wiz. It was a cool show and had that guy who loved kids as the scarecrow. He had done that zombie song she loved. She had been so sad when he died. Anyway, she bounced over to Ms. Jinn and waved and then jumped off the stage doing a pose. She looked around for someone to sit with. She shrugged when she didn't see her friends and went to the front row and sat down. She sat there for a few minutes and realized she didn't have a sheet like everyone else. She saw the sheets and went to grab one.
She couldn't decide which part to try out for. She didn't want to be Dorothy or one of the main characters, except Toto. She went through the ensemble characters she could be. They all were so cool. She hoped she got in. She had been practicing for a month. This was one of her favorite songs.
Name: Mini Maus Grade: Freshmen Part Auditioning for: Toto/Munchkin/Yellow Brick/Flying Monkey/Tornado/Poppy Song choice: Firework Conflicts: I can't think of any...

Post by Professor Erroneous Hootford on Mar 18, 2012 12:23:37 GMT -4
Professor Hootford had shown up quite early at the theatre to set up for the auditions. He had set up a table for the faculty and copied audition forms. He had set them out for everyone to take and set up small desk lamps for all the faculty to write by. Despite his old age he felt accomplished at being able to do all of this by himself.
Once he was finished, Hootford looked around to do one more check before he sat down in one of the front row seats. He took out his pocket watch and checked the time. The old, worn in watch showed him that he had about twenty minutes before the others would be arriving. He sighed a bit and thought to himself, Twenty minutes, plenty of time for a quick cat nap. With this thought in mind, he removed his patched up coat and his bowler hat and placed them in the chair beside him, closed his eyes, laid back in the chair and fell asleep.
Suddenly Hootford was shocked awake by a loud banging noise. "I'm innocent I swear!" cried out Hootford before looking around and seeing that everyone was staring at him. He turned quite red, realizing he had been dreaming and the bang had simply been someone entering the theatre. He chuckled a bit and said, I was testing you... and you all passed. He than turned to his colleagues and realized it must be time to begin. He looked at his pocket watch once more and was shocked to find he had fallen asleep for long enough that they were twenty minutes behind schedule. He shoved the watch back into his pants pocket and straightened up in his seat before stating, I think the auditions can begin. He tried to calm himself down as the first auditions began.

Post by Professor Vanessa LeGuin on Mar 18, 2012 13:44:04 GMT -4
Vanessa walked down the hallways of the school with her normal elegant stride. She was running late for the musical auditions but it bothered her little. After all, chances were they would have the brats singing first and she couldn't stand hearing a bunch of diva wannabes singing off pitch and ruining perfectly acceptable songs.
Nonetheless, when she entered the theatre with a theatrical bang and pose, she was discouraged to find everyone sitting around and chatting. The auditions had yet to begin and the elderly professor was just waking up from a nap. Apparently she was just in time for the torture to begin. Great.
Vanessa walked down the aisle and sat down between Professor Jinn and Professor Hootford as she watched the students talk and move around, waiting for the audition to begin. She was not pleased that she would have to sit through this entire torture but she had already agreed and so she plastered a smile on her face and sat waiting for the first person to sing. As she did so, she silently hoped that at least one of these misfits would be able to dance or she would have her work cut out for her. All she knew was she didn't see her start pupil and if she didn;t show up, Vanessa would be furious beyond words.
Vanessa was in a horrible mood and the auditions had just begun. The clock already ticked away slower than she wished, and so she settled in, ready for the long audition process to begin.

Robin smiled as people filtered in. She loved the sweet smell of theatre. She didn't know quite what it supposed to smell like but it smelled like whatever cologne Goliath was wearing mixed with that nasty perfume Vanessa was wearing plus the sweat of fear in students. She figured she had waited long enough. "We shall begin!" She stood on the chair and said matter of factly. She collected the remaining forms and sat down. She made them look neat and shuffled them. "I will be calling you randomly in groups of 4 in order to keep it fair." She didn't know how this was fair but it was what she was doing. She looked over to her two coworkers. "Trust me, silence from you makes them fear." She looked down at the first name and smiled "Lillith Bugian, Mini Maus, Tweedy Twins and Thomas O'Malley!"
She was not looking forward to this and yet was excited at the same time. They were either good or very bad. Very rarely did they impress her.
(How this is going to work: These people have a week to respond with their audition. If they don't I will consider the audition without the post and just make up what happened. After a week I will go on to the next group of 4. Make sure your character is realistic. If it is not realistic I will ask you to re-do it or we will batter your character into the ground as being delusional. You can audition in any order and comment on that if you wish. The groups are simply to keep this moving along. PEOPLE CAN STILL COME IN LATE)

EJ was tearing down the hallway. He was so late. Robin was probably going to kill him. He promised her that he’d be at the musical auditions, willing to lend a hand to the theatre program at Yen Sid, and then totally spaced. He’d only remembered at the exact moment auditions were supposed to start, so he was trying his best to get to the auditorium as fast as possible. Okay, there was no probably to it. Robin was going to kill him. She’d probably wait until auditions were over, but she would definitely kill him. He woulnd’t blame her, either. EJ made a promise, and then completely forgot about it.
When he finally made it to the theatre, she was already calling people to read. EJ tried to sneak as quietly as possible into the theatre, hoping he hadn’t missed anyone’s auditions. No one was on stage at the moment, that was a good sign. He snuck up to the table the other three staff members were sitting at, and silently took the seat between Robin and Professor Hootford from the science department. “I am so sorry for being late, Robin. Please forgive me. Have I missed anything yet?” EJ was quite out of breath from his run, so everything came out in short huffs.

Post by Madame Winifred Trousseau on Apr 9, 2012 16:56:05 GMT -4
Winifred strolled down the halls towards the auditorium. She had been waiting for audition day for the musical for weeks and today of all days she had been held up by a student having boyfriend problems who felt depressed because of it. As much as Winifred loved her job she hated being late and making people look good was her favorite pastime.. well besides music but that was besides the point. Winifred was late and she hated breaking promises even if she had a good reason.
As she reached the doors to the theater she paused long enough to fix herself and push back any flyaway hairs. She had to look presentable of course. Once she felt she was ready she entered the theater and strolled down the aisle to the front of the room. She placed her purse next to her and took a seat at the table full of faculty next to a very fashionable gentleman. She than pulled out a pad and a purple pen and placed them before before settling into her seat. She was ready to begin now.
Winifred turned to the other teachers and whispered I'm sorry for being late. Duty called. I hope I didn't miss anything. She than began scribbling down some notes about possible costume ideas and doodling in the margins waiting for the auditions to begin so she could better visualize these ideas on the bodies of the students before her.

Robin was almost ready for the auditions. She had sat in her seat, gotten out her fuzzy tipped pen and her notebook, plus she had organized the people going up. She looked up as she saw first E.J. run in and then Madame. She turned first to E.J. and said once she had finished talking. "Not you have not missed anything my dear. It is no problem whatsoever." Then when Madame came in she smiled and said "No worries Madame."
She was incredibly happy to see EJ, he always brightened his day. And was glad he had taken up the cause. Madame was just as wonderful. She had zeal and chutzpa and all that good stuff. She couldn't wait to work with her.
Robin was surprised at the amount of enthusiasm this school had for the arts. Schools today were often so short shrifted with music and the arts. Here it flourished more than the sports teams. Everyone was so into theatre it was amazing. There was also the welcomeness she felt. Nobody had said an ill word to her. It was like magic. It was a wish come true. But she knew these kind of wishes had a price so she was still wary. Thats why it was The Wiz instead of say Hair, or Spring Awakening. It was safe.. except for the race part.
"Where is the first person please?" She said loudly.

The twins walked onto the stage and placed their pocketbooks to the side where they could still see them but still looked somewhat professional. They missed them already. Than they walked over to center stage and split it, seeming virtually tied at the hip. The twins were nervous. They were out of their element. They had always hated going first as they were not leaders but rather followers. Anyone with half a brain knew this so why were they suckered into going first. Maybe daddy was right and they were too easily distracted by their cell phones cause now they were stuck. At least they had each other, right?
The twins looked at each other and than nodded their heads to cue the music to start. Before they knew it it was time to begin. "Anything you can do I can do better." "I can do anything better than you." The song continued and they tried to play off of each other as much as they could. They had always been good at playing off of each other in an argumentative yet flowing way. Twin telepathy or something was what daddy had called it. All they knew was they calmed down more and more the further they got.
"YES I CAN!!!!!!!!!!" they ended together as the music ended. They smiled at each other and bowed to the audience of students and faculty before seemingly running off stage, grabbing their purses as they did. Once back in their seats they turned to each other. "That went fantastic Dee! We are sure to get whatever parts we want. We'll be stars. Shootiing stars! "I hope that doesn't hurt too much. I heard stardom can be painful... or was it stones. I forget. Anyway, I agree Dum, we were fantastic!
The girls, now content with their singing auditions, turned their attention back to their phones. Several texts had come in but so far Victoria hadn't texted them nor Hal. All in all this was turning into a lovely afternoon. All they had left to do was the dance portion of the auditions and daddy had always told them they were like precious varies who could dance for all of eternity and never stop being graceful. They weren't worried in the least. They had the auditions in the bag.
