Cameo Maurice, the new french teacher from the Bayou's of New Orleans, Louisiana, was now walking in his dress clothes, a button up black shirt with a black tie and pants and shoes, down a long hallway, his brown hair spiked and waved in it's normal fashion with the yellow streaks flowing through it. As he walked he held a small silver Zippo lighter with a shark design on the lid clicking the lid open and shut. He often got nervous when meeting new people especially women. The woman he was going to meet was not a normal one. She was extraordinarily beautiful. Her name was Vanessa LeGuin. She taught jazz choir and dance. Cam had not been a teacher for long but he already knew of her and had to meet her for himself. He sighed a heavy sigh as he reached her door and snapped the lid shut than knocked.
"Hello? It's Cam Maurice the new french teacher. I thought I would drop by and introduce myself."
He then after waiting for a moment gently opened the door and looked around. He knew it was wrong to just enter her office without permission but some small part of him did not care because he needed to see her. See if what they said about her beauty was true. As he approached he saw her and went wide eyed and dropped his lighter to the floor for a moment. He quickly scooped it up and held it tightly and gulped.
"Care to chat Vanessa? Je vous promets que vous ne le regretterez pas."
(OCC: it means "I promise you won't regret it.")

Vanessa was staring out her window, thinking and attempting to make her list for characters for the musical production the school was putting on. As much as she wanted to forget the long, miserable audition process she needed to remember them and finish this work. Just as she turned to attempt this list once more she heard a knock at the door. She hoped that if she ignored the knock, they would go away and she would be left in peace again.
Sadly this hope was not met and the door soon burst open with a strange gentleman in its wake. She hadn't the faintest idea who he was but he wasted no time announcing who he was. Great. A new male working at the school. Just what this facility needs. she thought to herself as she gestured for him to sit down.
Vanessa had always hated people who didn't abide by the common sense rules of knocking and waiting to be allowed to enter. But of course in this "modern" society knocking was a thing of the past and so she held her tongue and put on her sweet smile. She might as well act the part until she knew if she could trust him or not. By his opening line, she already doubted he was to be trusted. A man who tried to flatter with french was never a good first sign. Nonetheless she smiled, waited for him to sit and said, "Welcome. I didn't know we were expecting a new faculty member but I'm always happy to meet a new coworker. Come. Sit. Let's chat. Although her eyes hinted to her true feelings, her face gave away nothing and her sweet and innocent act stayed solid as she analyzed her opponent.

Cam just strolled in and sat in a chair near Vanessa's desk. He just flipped his lighter in between his fingers. He then tossed it into his right hand and flipped open the lid and lit it for a moment and held it in front of his face. Through the flame he looked into the woman's eyes. He just smiled and gazed through the flame. He then snapped the lighter shut and locked eyes on the sweet looking woman as she smiled her sweet smole. Being a poker player he knew how to spot a persons tells. Her tell was her cold eyes or at least he thought so. Cam just smiled back at her and opened his lighter again and lit it.
"it's a funny thing fire, it can't help that it destroys things. It gets judged as bad just for being how it is. What people don't realize is that Fire can also help heal. Like in nature, when there is a forest fire and it is all ashes the ashes help new trees grow. It just helps move things along. I'm sure you know as well as I what it is like to be judged by just your looks or things you like or have done or haven't done."
Cam then shut the lid and placed the lighter in his pocket with a smooth grin. He had a talent for getting people to break their poker faces. He knew that deep down she was like him but he didn't yet know in what way. He just kept his smooth smile and placed his chin on his right fist as he propped himself up on the chair arm.
"So Vanessa, How long have you been working here? I actually used to be a student here ages ago. I got sent here after I was blamed for purposely blowing up my parents wine cellar. It was an accident but just because I liked Voodoo and things of the like I was branded the freak child and so my parents shipped me off here. After I graduated I just couldn't readjust so I got my teaching degree and here I am. How did you end up here?"
He then grinned showing the same expression in his eyes that she was giving him but with a tad more deviousness and smoothness.

This man's cockiness was irritating but her smile and sweet demeanor never faltered as she listened to his inflammatory words and accusations. Her past was none of his business. Her agenda meant only for her mind to know. This man was nothing but another pawn and an immature pawn as it would seem. She could have some fun with him. All she had to do was let some words slip and let his nosy personality follow some false leads and he would be playing her game. This was too easy.
Vanessa batted her eyelashes and stared sweetly at the man as he continued to ramble on. When he finally stopped she chuckled so sweetly it made her sick. She than spoke in a musical voice despite the plan forming in her head. You do realize that ashes and fire are quite different. Fire is destructive and dangerous and a light element. Ashes come from whatever fire burns and are part of the earth element. Using your logic of a forest fire, ashes are the remains of trees whereas the fire is the inferno that destroyed what once was. It is an interesting idea but quite wrong since fire and ash are nowhere near the same thing and the plants aren't grown from the ashes, they are seeds below the ashes that start to grow after decades of building up nutrients. Nice try though.
Vanessa smiled brightly despite wrapping down his whole comparison. Ahhhh much better. She giggled a little bit before adding, I've been working here about a year. I came to teach young talents how to stand a chance in the pit of wolves known as performing. So far, I've done my job and I love every moment of it. What about you lover boy? Have you come here to save yourself or to pass your skills onto the youth that passes through this school? Very few people come back here after leaving. It makes people wonder what might have caused them to turn to a school such as this to return to. Not that I'm judging, just a thought.
Vanessa's smile never faltered and all she did was fire back a question or thought for every thought he had given without truly answering anything. Time to make him sweat it out and feel the shock. Only her shock wasn't warm but rather icy and chilling. The bright smile and demeanor only added to the effect, making her smile more as she thought about what she may have accomplished. She chuckled a bit more although no sound escaped her lips. Her lips were sealed and he mind a maze. He had earned nothing except another puzzle. Let him figure it out and try to play her game.

Cam leaned forward as she tossed his own logic back at him. She was quick on the draw and very clever. He liked that in a woman. It showed she was a smart cookie and not just beautiful to look at. He listened to how she posed her question. It was truly a tough question. Was he there for his own sanity or for the students. He leaned back and looked at the floor for a moment as he began to think about it, truly think about it. His facial expression shifted from one of thrill to one of intense thought. In truth he had only seen this job as a safe haven from those who had hurt him but now that he actually stopped to think about it he could actually do the same for his students.
"You pose an interesting question. At first, It was to only escape the torment I suffered. Now that I am actually here though I feel I can help my students in the same way As myself and you. I can protect the odd balls and outcasts of this generation from the judgement and mockery I suffered. I can help better prepare them. Not to mention being from Louisiana, French is second nature to me so my job will be easy and hopefully I can make it fun for my students. So I guess a little bit of both."
Cam then blushed hearing her call him lover boy and he smiled a tad bit. He then went back into thought about why he returned to the school, why that was his safe haven. He just shrugged and felt the urge to smoke creeping it's head but he suppressed it for now.
"That's a fine statement Vanessa. I chose this place because when I went to school here, the Head master showed me this place could be like a home for people like me. So that is what I think of it as. Everyone is different."
Cam felt the urge to smoke getting stronger to the pulled out his pack of smokes and tapped it against his hand and pulled one out but before pulling out his lighter he held it out to her as he pulled a second one just in case.
"Do you smoke? Do you mind if I do? If you do not want smoke in here I can wait. So, what does the beautiful Vanessa do when not enriching young minds? I myself like to play cards, play pool and sometimes gamble when the mood strikes."
Cam just shrugged and smiled a smooth smile at the corner of his mouth holding the two smokes in two fingers waiting as he pulled out his lighter. He wanted this to go smoothly.

Vanessa thought about his offer. She was indifferent about gambling and smoking but never made a habit of either. They were more of a stress reliever than a need. This guy looked like he was going to crawl out of his skin if he didn't get some smoke in his lungs or some dice in his hands in the next five seconds. What a poor unfortunate soul. Vanessa pitied him but she still did not approve.
"I will have to decline your offer for a smoke. I'm surprised you would be thinking to do that around such influential teenagers. They might see your actions as an excuse to do the same. As for your gambling, you seem to need it to survive but you must not do very well. You're dressed as a simpleton and you're working at the school you once attended as a french teacher. I'm guessing luck is not an often friend?Oh and in case you were not aware, smoking on school grounds ESPECIALLY in buildings is strictly forbidden and could l;and you in jail. We wouldn't want that now would we?"
Vanessa smirked as she stated this and waited a moment for his reaction before continuing. "As for what I like to do it is clearly not what you like to do so I feel as if it wouldn't matter much to you. But if you must know, I like to dance and sing, preferably for a large PAYING audience or ALONE! I hope that answers your question. I'm not good with words."
Vanessa smiled widely and batted her eyes at Cam as she finished this statement and fell silent. Inside she was laughing and enjoying the fun but outside she was all sweetness and caring. His reactions were priceless nonetheless and so she took great joy in taking in every one as she continued her silly yet believable act for this fool.

Cam just put away the smokes back into his pocket with a gruff sigh as the beautiful woman was beginning to tell him off again. Cam just clenched his fists in aggrivation. Here he was trying to be a good man and make a friend and she was being a total bitch about it. He just put away his lighter as she just went on and on about how she did things alone and began mocking him and making false assumptions about his gambling. He just stood up with a anger filled scowl. He looked her in the eyes and slammed his hands down on her desk.
"OK lady Enough! I know you get your thrills out of making men feel like total crap but I am a fellow teacher and I will have your respect! Oh and another thing, I have seen pleanty of teachers smoke on campus! I won't do it around the kids cause I am not a moron! Oh and my gambling isn't a problem unlike your thirst for making men grovel at your knees. Your beautiful yes but you need to learn respect! I do like you. We could benefit from one anothers companionship so if you wanna go out come find me."
He then just turned around and slammed her door open and began to walk down the hall actually hoping that she would come and stop him.

Vanessa watched as her colleague threw his hissy fit and stormed out after calling her some lovely things. This fool felt the need to come in here, be an idiotic fool and than insult her?! She wouldn't stand for this but lucky for him he was smart enough to leave before she kicked him out herself, the later of which would have been much more painful and quite more embarrassing for him. The sucker!
Vanessa stood up, smoothing out her skirt and checking her makeup, and walked over to the door before slamming it behind him and taping a sign to the door stating Please do not disturb unless told to enter. KNOCK FIRST AND WAIT! Thank you. She than walked back to her desk and sat down with a thud and a sigh. This lovely visit had taken important time out of what little time she spent at her desk. She hated men, especially rude, insulting, perverted men. He had come in here and hit on her?! What gave him that right?! All she knew was that if he came near her again she would make him regret it and report him to the Headmaster as making her feel uncomfortable. That was, of course after she would make him feel... well uncomfortable.
Vanessa cackled at the thought and was suddenly in a bit of a better mood. She was now in her quiet office once more and she had something to look forward to as she had a bad feeling she had not seen the last of that pervert. Oh well. She would enjoy herself if he showed his face again. She almost hoped for it as she returned to her paperwork and her choreography notes once more as if nothing had happened.
