As much as Al hated listening to boring lectures he had to admit that putting up with it was worth it. Despite being boring going to Yensid had it perks, not only did he have a roof over his head but he had a secure meal everyday. No more wondering when and how he'd satisfy his rumbling stomach. All he had to worry about was fitting in.
That wasn't so easy for Al he was social and charming but he didn't feel like putting in the effort. Mainly because all of the kids here wanted to talk about the folks back home and sadly Al didn't have anyone sending him care packages or calling. His mother was dead and his father was being in held in Guantamano Bay. So Al mostly kept to himself. Plus he sort of felt like some of his classmates thought he was a terrorist or something. He was the only Indian/Arab kid in this school. But he wasn't exactly a loner he had a few classmates he got along with. He knew them by name and even a bit about a few of them but nobody that he'd say this guy or gal is my bff.
Al grabbed his tray and started scanning the area for an empty table. Just his luck... there were none. Now to find someone he knew. He took a quick glance and spotted someone he was comfortable enough with. He had Garth or Goliath for two class periods and the two could carry a conversation well enough when they'd had time to talk before class.
"Hey Goliath can I sit here?" He said referring the empty seat in front Goliath.

Ahh Lunch, it was most students favorite period of the day, some even counted it as a class. Goliath just saw it as a time to relax. Goliath spent most of the time between classes making sure that his friend Dory made it to all of her classes. Goliath as he did most days packed his lunch because he didn't like the schools food often. After making sure Dory made it to her favorite tree to eat her lunch he entered the lunch room with his own and sat a table that was empty. Once he was sitting he pulled out a turkey and cheese sandwich with mayo, a bottle of pepsi, a medium sized ziplock baggy of Jalepanios and a Hershey bar. After eating a couple of the Jalepaneos, Goliath heard a familier voice speak to him causing him to look up from his lunch. It was Aladdin, known mostly as Al. The two of them were the same in one respect, they had no family. Goliath nodded to his friends request.
"Yea you can sit here Al. We are friends after all. How are you? Adventure class was fun today though it made me so hungry!"
Goliath smiled and broke his chocolate bar in half and slid it over to him. Goliath knew all about Aladdin's family or lack there of and knew what Al used to do to survive and felt like they were kindred spirits and would gladly spend time with him outside of class. Opening his drink and taking a small sip he looked at Al wondering if he had any sort of plans in his mind. Al could be very tricky when he wanted to be. The guy was a mad genius. It made Goliath smile.
"Hey Al, I have to work after school today but afterward do ya wanna do somethin? I don't have any homework so far so i'm pretty free. I Just have to make sure Dory makes it back to her room okay and then i'm all good. What do you have going on?"
Goliath looked back down at his lunch wondering just how much Al knew about his past. It always made him wonder because Al was a master of lies and deception. He would make a perfect warrior if he let himself get trained. It was like Al was a member of his clan which both made Goliath happy and broke his heart at the same time.
