Personality: Jessica is one of those girls who doesn't know true beauty even when it's right in front of her face. Convinced that she'll never be pretty enough, she goes to extraordinary looks to make herself more physically appealing to others. She desperately wants someone to notice her for something other than her appearance and to stop being used by the superficial people who use her because she's pretty. She despises the stereotypes placed on her by ignoramuses thinking she's a spoiled brat because her mother is rich and she's attractive. When really, she would love nothing more than to sprawl out on a couch with a bag of Cheese Puffs and play video games into the wee hours of the night or sit around in a library researching the differences between the neoclassical and baroque periods. Jessica has a religious regiment of maintaining her appearance. She suffers from many eating disorders in an effort to stay supermodel skinny and punishes herself if she gets over a certain weight. Jessica hates her mother for the woman's high expectations and assumptions that Jessica will follow in her footsteps.
Where I Began

History: When your mother is a single and famous Playboy bunny, you're gonna have a bad time. Such is case of Jessica's beginnings. She was born in Los Angeles to Summer Redmond on Valentine's Day, which would become a perverse irony in later years. Jessica never knew her father, who was most likely some john her mother had met at a bar or photo shoot. And, naturally, Summer Redmond knew nothing about taking care of a child, but she gave it a half-hearted attempt.
It was obvious from the start that Jessica was a pretty girl. She never flaunted it, and never really saw herself as beautiful. She became a child model before she entered kindergarten, and the camera loved her. But fame and fortune had never been part of Jessica's interests. Amidst the flashing cameras and costumes, she dreamed of being back at home chasing butterflies with her mother--or spending any time with her mother at all, for that matter. The young girl rarely saw her maternal figure, who spent most of her time at the Playboy mansion and usually coming home tipsy with two guys on each arm. During these times, Jessica learned to hide in her room when some of her mother's "guests" began making unwanted advances.
Jessica's grammar school years were rocky, to say the least. Her practically nonexistent mother wanted her to go to a public school like normal children, which turned out to be a nightmare. California's children were as bratty as the adults and other students often taunted her for her mother's occupation, calling her a snob and a prep because she happened to have a little more money than the rest of them. On the contrary, Jessica was quiet and sensitive and just wanted to be accepted. And it would only get worse from there.
As Jessica ranked up through the grades, the social abuse came alive with a fury. Girls began using her appearance to gain social status and attract boys. Boys used her appearance to look good and make other boys jealous. The teenager was shoved back and forth in between cliques, never truly being wanted as a person by anyone. She began to despise her appearance, her mind becoming warped into believing her appearance had to be perfect, both to appease her mother's expectations and to be noticed by other people.
Then she met him. Trent Freeman. The senior. It was like a dream. Her freshman year of high school, Jessica was ready to blow her brains out from all the pressure she was under. She happened to catch him lounging in the gym after leaving volleyball practice. She was cautious and suspicious at first when he offered to carry her gym bag and subsequently began walking with her to classes. But she quickly began warming up to him. It wasn't long before he asked her out and the two began dating. It was Jessica's first boyfriend, and she couldn't have been happier. Things finally seemed to be going right for once.
It was soon obvious to everyone that Jessica was dating the baseball star. Girls envied her, boys wanted to be with her. But the social status wasn't what she desired. It was the fact that Trent wanted her, that he loved her. He had told her time and again that she was beautiful. And then that time came. The couple consummated their relationship. The following day, with Jessica convinced her life was perfect, Trent dumped her. Her entire world was shattered. She'd given everything to him, and he just abandoned her seemingly for no reason. Jessica spiraled into rock bottom.
Things went from bad to worse. Jessica was packing her stuff in her locker when she was approached by another baseball player, Trent's right hand man, Aaron. She instantly noticed that he looked embarrassed to be near her. He confessed to her that Trent had only dated her on a dare from the baseball team to sleep with the hottest girl at school, which Jessica had won by a landslide. Something snapped in Jessica. She walked away with Aaron following her, but she ditched him. She located the empty anatomy lab and commenced to extracting on the scalpels from a drawer. She held the blade to her chest, ready to end her very existence.
Time seemed to stand still. The seconds dragged on. Jessica tightened her grip on the scalpel, ready to end it all...when she was interrupted by a soft voice. The sound was like thunder in the silence, causing the scalpel to slip and leave a deep gash in Jessica's side. She immediately felt a cloth stemming the blood flow. She looked up to see Aaron standing there, smiling sheepishly down at her. The event sparked a new friendship between the two.
Things seemed to get a little more tolerable once Jessica began talking to Aaron. She was the best friend she always wanted (little did she know that he wanted to be more). The two were separated when Jessica's mother decided to send her to New Hampshire, where a school with a notorious fashion class was located. Jessica left, vowing that she wouldn't forget about her friend.
