Personality: Phillip tries to be a good guy but every guy makes mistakes. He sometimes forgets that the things he does will hurt the people he loves. He's not good at seeing the consequences that will come of his actions. Phillip isn't good at expressing his feelings. He presents himself as a tough guy that can't get his feelings hurt.
He's also got an I'm always right attitude. He won't take advice from anyone and simply states that it's his life and he can do what he wants with it. But he's learned to late that his action do indeed hurt other people. Like when he decided to have a family it was just about him anymore. He can't always be right and his mistakes effected his wife but most importantly his son.
History: Phillip was the normal jock in high school. He played football and pole-vaulted during track season. But injuries riddled him trough his high school career and instead of playing in college and trying to go pro he majored in Physical Therapy when it was a Bachelors program.
He married and had the perfect family for a while. His son River was a gifted child. He was one of the few parents that could brag about their child being "Magic". But things weren't perfect. Their son River was a traveling magician and with Phillips work it was hard for him to travel with the family. The distance and Phillips history of cheating made it difficult for the couple to handle their relationship. But they still loved each other and both put up with each others bullcrxp.
When his son River Was 14 everything changed. River went blind and instead of bringing the couple closer together to help the boy, this just caused the couple to bicker more. Annie wanted Phillip to fix everything but Phillip didn't know what to do. Had River lost the use of his legs then Phillip would have know what to do but it was River's eyes and Phillip was lost. They blamed each other for Rivers disability and constantly bickered.
With River no longer traveling Annie was around longer and constantly asking why Phillip was home so late. Phillip couldn't take it anymore. She either blamed him for not being able to help River or accused him of cheating ( which was true) so he got up and left. He went to Mexico and began helping children who were born with gait trouble. He traveled all of Mexico and started to pick up the language.
But one thing he learned about the Hispanic culture was that family was the most important thing. Seeing men in worse positions than he was in, sticking by their family made him feel like a coward. So now Phillip is back wanting to mend things with his wife and his son.
