Personality: Melody is a rebel in every sense of the word. If something is meant to be done one way, she does it the opposite. If she's told to do something productive, she does something destructive. She loves confrontation and goes out of her way to start arguments among people--all the better if a fist fight breaks out and she can get in the middle of it. Her refusal to listen to anyone is her greatest flaw and usually gets her a ton of trouble. She loves the water and would rather spend all day in the water than spend a few seconds in a classroom being lectured. She also loves music and the arts and is a very talented singer and dancer, though she would never let anyone know that. She's a typical party girl and has almost been caught more than once breaking in after curfew, completely smashed and wearing a lamp shade.

Friends: She makes friends with everyone.
History: Melody was born to a pretty average family. Her parent met in college, her mother a marine biologist and her father a lawyer. They were middle class, nothing extravagant, in a small city in Hawaii. And Melody was their pride and joy.
Melody grew up loving the sea. She could swim by the time she was two and could surf better than most adults by the time she was six. She was very close to her uncle, Sebastion, who encourage her love the sea and took over as her primary caregiver when her parents were off on their excursions. It was not uncommon to see the two on the beach collecting shells and playing in the waves.
Once Melody started school, it was obvious that she was a good student. Not prodigy-good, but above average. Her parents focused on her advancing in her studies, and she began to resent the long hour she spent poring over material far more advanced than her grade level. She savored the days when she got to hang out by the water with her uncle, venting to him about her parents' increasingly strict regiment concerning her studies. Her uncle advised her to talk to her parents, which usually resulted in fights and led to the Calders refusing to let their daughter see her carefree uncle.
By the time she reached middle school, Melody was already getting out of control. She drank, she fought, she gambled, and she moved from one boy to the next in purely physical relationships. None of this was out of peer pressure or a snarky attitude; it was simply rebellion against her parents and their rules. She got her first tattoo in seventh grade, and her parents were naturally appalled. The rules became more severe, and as they did, Melody's personality became even more wild. She was expelled from several schools, even those for wild students. The Calder's perfect child was becoming a monster.
In a last desperate attempt to reign in some of their daughter's personality, the Calder's sent her away from her familiar surroundings to a school in New Hampshire, hoping she could find something to tone her down. Being away from her parents and home did erase the hostility in her personality, but she was still a partying rebel and proud to be so. But she has been slightly tamed by the cold mountains of New Hampshire--but only slightly.
