History: Despite her name, Ming-na is not Asian at all, her family has lived overseas since World War II due to a family marriage. Ming-na was born into a loving family who was only given the one chance to have a child. Her mother’s body could almost not handle her pregnancy with Ming-na. Despite complication, Ming-na was a healthy baby. Ming-na grew up in an upper class area of Japan. She didn’t do the usual ting Jappanise girls did growing up. Sure she tried playing with dolls and playing dress up, but playing soccer and archery interested her more. Ming-na was more worried what her finishing sore was or how many hits she could get than looking like a clean cut girl. Her mother was sad at first that she didn’t have a ‘true’ little girl, but she accepted Ming-na as a tomboy.
When Ming-na entered transition school, middle school over-seas, she found that she enjoyed art. She also found out that she had family that lived over in America. As much as Ming-na loved living in Japan, she wanted to see the world and go on adventures. Her parents figured going to a school close to family would be a great way to start. So the summer before her freshman year she moving in with her aunt and uncle and attended Yen Sid Academy in the fall.
