History: Jane Porter grew up in Watsford, England with her Father, Archimedes Porter, the professor at a prestigeous University nearby. She tried to be the perfect daughter to her father, a proper young lady who didn't talk often, but her love for anything outdoors made most of her dresses dirty and gave her loads to talk about. No matter how much she tried to be that little miss perfect, the outdoors called to her, and Jane couldn't resist. She was hooked on it. Hooked for life.
Jane grew up fairly quickly with not many friends do to her interests. THroughout school she was top of the class, and therefor, not very liked by her peers. Not that it mattered, she had a sketchpad and the outdoors to keep her company. In College she gathered a few more friends and came out of her shell, becoming more talkative and getting a teaching degree. Before she went back for early summer sessions on guidance conseloring - a friend had told her she would be rather good, she studied abroad in a jungle like country that had much to offer her scholar-like mind.
It was there that she fell in love with the wildlife, drawing and the gorillas. Jane thought them absolutely gorgeous and very curious creatures, but one of her buddies who was studying abroad thought them nothing more than beasts. Jane found more than one occasion to punch him in the face or tell him off for his selfishness and cruelty to such majestic creatures. Jane had decided that she was going to live there after she got her college degrees all sorted out.
But life got in the way.
Jane came back to find her father ill, and so much that she spent her savings to get him the best doctor for his pancreatic cancer. The doctor was in the USA, so Jane traveled there with her father, who died shortly after. Jane was heartbroken, and even more so after finding out that she couldn't afford his funeral. So she had him cremated, but Jane didn't want to go back to England. Not when the USA had more teaching jobs to offer. Jane got a job at Yen Sid Academy as a guidance conselor, waiting for the day when she can return to the jungle and follow her true calling.

Charmaine Melody Kohnas was actually tired of something for once. Blasphemy! She thought as she stood up from her bed. She was tired of doing nothing between her tour times and singing rehersals. All she did was either sit in the courtyard for ever and ever, or sleep. Being so lazy bothered Melody. She never considered herself that lazy. but here she was, flopped down on her bed yet again, reluctant to make plans to actualyl do something today. She'd already sang until her voice hurt this morning in her rehersal room, though a square was more like it. She'd given one almost empty tour, then came to her room to lounge around...again. It was a horrid thing to do, not when the weather is so nice outside or she could actually play her brand-spankin' new ukulele her grandmother in Hawaii sent her.
It was nice, with waves etched in by hand and a sweet pineapple shape. The whole thing was bright and mellow at the same time. Melody figured that it cost at least 200 dollars, if not more. Her grandmother had taken her shopping all over Honolulu, and when they stopped inside a guitar store to get some more strings for her guitar, there it was. Just sitting on the wall. Mel figured it was love at first sight. But alas, they didn't bring enough money to buy something like that, so they had to leave it. That was Mel's last day there. Little did she know that her grandmother went back and bought it for her; the sweet old lady she was.
Now it was here, in her room sitting proudly on her guitar wall rack like it knew it was one of the most fascinating things in that very room. To Mel, it was...so it was really strange when she didn't pull it off the rack and play it while lounging. She could already play Someone Like You from the jungle book, so it was a real riot to actually here her sing it an octave higher with that tiny instrument. Yes, she knew more songs, but that one was the most fun.
Standing up, Melody decided that she'd hit two birds with one stone. She was going to get out of her wretched room, and she was going to play that uke. Melody Kohnas stuck her 'determined' face on and grabbed her ukulele gig bag, put the instrument inside, and slipped her flats on. Already she was wearing one of her favorite outfits, a golden beret, light blue shirt and some red capris. She picked her gold flats to match, and walked out of her dorm room. She decided she had had enough of the school scenery, so she made her way, while calling "Hi!" and talking to those people she knew, to the front of the school, and walked off campus and towards the town square shopping center, hoping there'd be a bench or something she could play on.
Looking around the square, she figured that this was a really nice town. There was shops, people chatting. Even a huge fountain with a boy standing proudly atop it. She giggled at the thought of someone actually walking around with water coming out of their hat. It'd be quite a mess... Melody figured as she walked along the sidewalks. Not very many people knew her here, so it was weird to walk along and not be called out to, or to see a familiar face. There were little girls she waves at, hoping to improve their day. She grinned at the old ladies, knowing that they reminded her of her own grandmother. Melody was being her generally happy self, glad to actually get out of her room and try something new today.
it was when she was nearing the fountain that she heard it. Something that truly sparked her interest and made her forget all about playing her ukulele or getting out of her room (Which she was now insanely glad she did.) Charmaine Melody Kohnas was hearing bells. Big, loud, and beautiful church bells just ringing in the distance. She felt a wave of homesickness about her bell-related past, and was determined to find out where these particular bells called home. So she set off running towards them, hoping to get to wherever they were before they stopped prodicing the enchanting melody. But as she ran near the fountain, she must've not been paying attention to her surroundings, since she ran straight into another person.
Melody Kohnas clipped the shoulder of the stranger quite hard, and she herself went tumbling straight towards the fountain, but instead caught herself on her hands right on the edge. Pain shot up her wrists so fast she was forced to let out a moan of pain. After regaining her balance, she checked her hands that caught her fall. Nothing broken, but she was going to have to clean her cuts and watch for bruises later. you're forgetting something...or someone I'd say. Her subconscious told her. "The other person!" Melody gasped as she swiveled around to face the stranger she just probably bruised...and angered.
"I'm so, so sorry. Is there anything I can do to help you?" Melody said as she got her first real look at the person. It was a teen, probably around her age. He looked a tad familiar, but...at the same time not. He could go to school with me.. I wouldn't know. Melody thought as she adjusted the straps on her ukulele case.
