Who I Am Inside
Likes: Tattoos (you can easily give yourself tattoos), practicing Wiccan rituals, reading, telling others random facts, learning, being alone, full moons, star gazing, black licorice, riddles and rhymes, experiments, has a fascination in medieval torture tools and weapons, death, skeletons, goth clothes and looks, the mountains, snow/rain storms, eye liner, ravens, silence, darkness, sunglasses, feeling welcome.
Dislikes: people, loud people, annoying people, idiotic people, perverts, being called a witch (she'll put a spell on you), rainbows, high pitched noises, incorrect data, big cities, E-books(they are destroying the joy of a good book in your hands), churches, judging people, rainbows, pastel colors, butterflies, smiley faces.
Strengths: learning, teaching others, making people feel inferior, speed reading, getting good grades, acting like she doesn't care.
Weaknesses: fitting in, being like everyone else, being accepted, athletics (it fails at all sports), social skills, sounding interested.
Fears: Being judged for being genderless, drowning(it doesn't know how to swim), book burnings (it's book murder. It's just unacceptable).
Personality: Aine is a very intelligent young lady. Despite her age, s/he has wisdom that, on occasion, surpasses that of hir elders. S/he is seemingly uninterested in most things and people and feels that unless there are accurate facts to back up things, there is no need for them. Aine can feel love but chooses not to label hirself with a gender nor with a sexual preference as s/he feels that they are unnecessary and only enforced by the push of society to know all about you.
Aine is quick to help others, especially with schoolwork and information and will gladly tell you what s/he knows if you ask hir. Otherwise s/he stays largely to hirself and among hir faithful books and pets. S/he may seem odd and a bit blunt in everything s/he says and does but s/he means well and does not mean to offend... usually.
Aine is all knowledge but none of the strength. The only threat that is posed by hir is the threat of making you look foolish or of tricking you with riddles or "big words". Hir game is one of wit not of strength and s/he will make sure she wins... that is unless s/he wants you to win. S/he'll gladly accept the challenge nonetheless.
Aine is quite mature for her age and despite hir short stature, s/he looks much older than she is. No one ever guesses that she skipped a grade until they get to know hir and most people don't take the time to try.
All Aine wants is to have someone try to understand her for who s/he is and what s/he is. Naive, idiotic people are too quick to judge hir for hir wiccan faith or irish heritage or "sexuality" or hir age. Aine has learned to ignore people and want nothing to do with them as a result of all this torment for being different and unique. S/he is special and is treated as an outcast as a result of it. S/he has retreated to darkened corners as a result, hiding from the world unless asked to come out, at which time s/he will calmly ask you "What whist thou know", a neutral look or slight smart on hir face. S/he always seems uninterested but looks are deceiving. So try to look within and you may see more than what is found on the surface.

History: Aine does not know much about hir birth or hir parents. S/he was born in Ireland to a woman who was homeless. S/he was an unplanned child and had been left for dead in an alleyway behind a pub. This is where Aine was found, wrapped up in some old rags and dirty. S/he was barely a day old and quite small. She was taken to the nearest hospital by a good samaritan and taken care of. This good samaritan came to visit hir every day s/he was in the hospital and once it was declared that the mother could not be found and the baby had been abandoned, adopted hir and began raising hir as her own baby. This woman was Ms. Kelly O'Connor.
Aine grew to love this woman although she had learned quite young that this woman was not hir birth mother. S/he was treated like a princess, the only child in the house of this single woman. No one knew why ms. Kelly took this baby in but Aine was grateful. She had a home and a mother and that was all s/he wanted. S/he learned how to read and write in this house and was taught about the old Irish traditions and the Wiccan faith hir mother followed. Aine began to learn all she could from hir mother and she was as happy as she could be.
When Aine was eight, s/he was coming home from school when she saw a horror s/he would never forget. Hir house was up in flames. Everything was lost. Aine ran but was stopped by the firemen. They held her back and tried to calm hir down. Once the fire was put out, they went into the remains of Aine's life and searched for anything they could salvage. What they found sombered everyone present. Ms. Kelly had been in the house when the fire had engulfed it and had perished in the flames. It was later discovered that someone had set the house on fire- a piromaniac who had been drawn to the old house and thought no one was inside it. Aine was alone and with nothing to her name. All she had was the books in her bag and the clothes on her back.
Aine was sent to the nearest orphanage and funneled through several foster homes but no one could handle the "damaged child". No one could explain why hir only family had been taken from hir and no one could handle the odd behaviors that s/he had learned from hir deceased guardian. Aine would run from these homes as soon as s/he sensed s/he was not welcome and never bothered to learn their names as s/he knew s/he wouldn't be there long. Aine grew to only befriend books and the rare other person who actually did understand but s/he was like a bodiless head, floating from place to place quicker than you could follow it.
Aine never found a true place to call home other than the libraries in every town s/he moved to. At the age of twelve, Aine got into trouble s/he couldn't get out of. Aine was being bullied and s/he attacked the child at school, a fourteen year old, clawing the girl's face and threatening to curse her until the girl gave back the book from Aine's early childhood.
Aine was sent to a mental hospital where any trust she had had was stripped. S/he retreated further into hir books and hir faith and became the cold child s/he is now. The doctors there watched hir and felt that Aine did not need to be there and that s/he had potential and began looking for schools that might accept hir so she might finally have a place to call home. Yen Sid Academy came up in the search and after talking with hir guardian at the time and the school, it was decided that if Aine did not act up again before hir thirteenth birthday, s/he would be released and sent to Yen Sid to begin high school a year early in America.
Aine was indifferent about the whole situation and behaved (she had nothing else to do anyway) and all went as planned. Aine was saddened to say goodbye to hir homeland but had nothing else holding hir there. When s/he stepped off the plane and was met by the headmaster to bring hir to the school, she did so silently and accepted hir new fate. All s/he hopes is that s/he can finally find a place to call home. Although s/he'll never admit it, s/he is hoping that this school is it and so far, s/he does indeed feel home.
