Mirror Mirror On the Wall
Skin tone: Light, often described as pale.
Hair: Somewhat short and black
Eyes: Blue
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 175 lbs
Body Type: Slim, but toned.
Other: He has the words “neutiquam erro” tattooed down the inside of his right forearm. This means “I am not lost” in Latin. And he had his spinal cord traced all down his back. He has a scar on the palm of his left hand from a deep knife wound he received in a manner he’s always very vague on. The story changes with every person who hears it. He also has the following tattooed across his left wrist: M147A. The set of numbers and letters has a meaning for him he refuses to explain. However, due to his position as a teacher he covers it with long sleeves or miscellaneous bracelets and wristbands.
Who I Am Inside
Likes: Anatomy; the band Bauhaus and a lot of 80s music; he secretly gets a thrill from demeaning some of his students; psychology (obviously) and certain aspects of the human mind; a favorite past-time of Randall’s includes sculpting, something very few people know.
Dislikes: “Stupid” and “ignorant” people (these are generally defined under his standards); his mother’s relation to a system he can’t stand; the snobbery and general uptightness tied to New York’s so-called “upper east side” and many other social circles Randall is forced to move through; being contradicted by students; certain parts of his past.
Strengths: He has a rather sharp tongue and so is rarely at a loss for words in any conversation (argument or not); can easily read people; incredibly charismatic, he likes to think of himself as a natural born leader; vastly intelligent for someone his age, Randall can often times seem many years older than he really is; very passionate about what he wants so this drives him to accomplish things more quickly.
Weaknesses: He is overly-confident and can be incredibly vain; somewhat close-minded, usually he feels things are his way or no way at all; his drive can also be a weakness because it is so strong at times that it blinds him from potential harm; his constant need for approval; horrible temper, Randall is prone to fits of rage.
Fears: Inadequacy; rejection; losing control, his definition of it at least
Personality: Quick witted and incredibly charming (when he’s in the mood), Randall maintains that he has the ability to make friends with nearly anyone if given the opportunity. He has a PhD in psychology and knows the human mind rather thoroughly. Despite his supposed charisma, Randall’s list of friends is unbelievably short. He has a sharp tongue and little patience for other people, often dismissing them with the rudest sentiments upon his first meeting with said person. He is very arrogant and finds himself to be intellectually above many of his colleagues and especially his students. However, this feeling is masked expertly to the school’s headmaster, and many others, underneath a façade of goodwill and seeming magnetism. However, Randall should not be mistaken for someone so completely disinclined to social activities he can’t for the life of him make any friends at all. He can be friendly if he deems someone “worthy” of said title of friendship. It’s a twisted way of thinking, but Randall is a pretty twisted fellow. Many of the people who meet Randall have described him as a “chameleon” personality-wise. He can switch around his social behavior so easily it borders on the eerie side. As if the male has more than one personality. Who can say, really?
Where I Began
Mother: Seralynn Vanderbilt
Father: Jeffrey Boggs (estranged)
Siblings: None.
Other Relatives: Arthur Daniel Vanderbilt (grandfather)
Pets: Ball python named Dev
Friends: None to speak of. That's not to say he's disinclined to make them, though.
History: Randall was the illegitimate child of Seralynn Vanderbilt and Jeffrey Boggs. Seralynn, the daughter of political giant Arthur Vanderbilt, had Randall despite her father’s wishes. Do not be mistaken, though. His grandfather was initially afraid of scandal, but soon grew pretty fond of the boy and showered him with gifts and privilege only a man such as himself could offer. So Randall lived the life of the rich, spoiled kid who got pretty much whatever he wanted. He attended some of the best schools money could pay for in New York City where he was born and raised. However, as an adolescent Randall began to detest the life he’d been born into and the father he’d never known. He acted out and rebelled against the high society expectations set upon him and as his high-paid home psychiatrist said “self-destructed”. He had a “breakdown” of sorts and was sent off to a highly recommended sanatorium. Again, only the best money could buy. There the male was diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder, but was released a year later on the grounds that his disorder had become much less apparent and difficult to handle. He now operates on his being “cured” from the disorder which, he says, originally sparked his interest in psychology in the first place. After being released he was able to get into an Ivy League school (with his family’s backing, of course) and completed his education in the psychological sciences. Despite his previous indiscretions, Randall was a very determined student. He made A’s in most if not all of his classes and was involved in several organizations. A former alum of Yen Sid Academy and potential donor, Arthur lobbied for his grandson to get the teaching position there. If Randall was going to give up the life he should have been following then at least the older man could assure he did it in a place deemed somewhat worthy by the Vanderbilts and their social circle.
