"No no, Honey, you've got to see past that man, he is doin' nothing good with you. And... I'm sorry, but yellow is just not your color. You're just washing yourself out. Maybe buying this new scarf will help?" Kenichi Nakamura was, at the moment, following a struggling college student with her man problems, and simultaneously making a sale at the same time. All in a day's work at his job at the local boutique. While it lacked the truly 'current' fashions Ken needed to keep his reputation up as a trendsetter, it was still a nice place for the lessers to shop. The 'lessers' being people who were less fortunate with fashion sense compared to him.
The college student, while stunned with his bluntness, soon picked up a nice, dark blue scarf. Ken clapped his hands together, glad when a customer finally found that one item, the color that fit them. Where was the fun in just boringly telling them? There was no fun in ruining a surprise like that. Besides, more people bought clothes, which meant he made more money.
They continued to chat about her on again, off again boyfriend, a punk named Chad, and in Ken's opinion, needed to be dumped. This girl seemed far to nice and sweet to give a guy like 'Chad' a chance. Ah, but even though I tell her, she's still in here buying accessories for a college thing with him. When will people learn. Ken shook his head, and rang up her total. Nothing at the shop was incredibly cheap, and the scarf, a deep blue which brought out the girl's eyes, was a designer item. If it wasn't so girly, he would consider wearing it... But only if I have shoes to match. After bidding her a good day, Ken walked back to the dressing rooms to straighten them up.
"Oi, why can't people in a classy shopping place just take garments out of the dressing room! Don't they know it's more work for me to put these lovely clothes awa- Oh, that tie, is fantastic. Maybe I'll buy it... hrmm.. but what for..." Ken went on with his mixture of grumbling and fantasizing as he worked. They didn't often have customers, but around those times when school dances happened, Ken got to see many of his classmates. Lots of people were helped by himself, but a lot refused his keen eye for matching and fashion. Most guys tried to stay away from the boutique entirely, thinking it a girly shop.
But there are so many fabulous tuxes here. What a pity. Ken straightened up some decorations around the shop, a slightly tilted picture frame, a rack that had slid over, a vase of plastic flowers. Ken himself was wearing perfect sunny weekend clothes, consisting of a charcoal button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Over that was a light pink vest, complete with some black skinny slacks and some Sperry shoes. And to top it all off? A silver and white pinstriped ascot tie. Truly a stunning outfit, and only for the best.
Ken was in the middle of straightening out the hangers held behind the counter when the little bell, the highly annoying little bell, rang. A new customer had walked in, a new chance at showing his skills. Grinning to himself from behind the counter, he kept at the hangers. It would do no good to seem to eager. Ken had played this game before, and it required skill.
"Welcome to the Bibidibobidiboo Boutique! Fashion Prodigy Ken at your service!" Okay, so maybe he wasn't being as subtle as he thought...or as modest, for that matter too.

Robert Wallace sat in his car staring into the sun vizer's mirror as it reflected the image of his "distorted" face. A relaxed lower lip, crooked smile, and the residue of dry saliva on the corners of his lips were the side effects of a stroke. In the two years after his stroke Robert had never dealt with being self conscious about his image until now.
Why was he caring about his appearance now? 3 words: Edward James Mode. 14 years Robert's junior Edward was young, smart, and beyond handsome. Robert rubbed the dry saliva off the corners of his mouth with the tip of his index finger but the removal of the dried body fluids didn't cause him feel any more attractive. The 43 year old was being unfairly harsh on himself. The truth was that Robert had the looks that most 43 year olds would envy. Despite the stroke Robert's slender build and semi-muscular arms compared to the beer belly's and flabby arms of most men his age made him quite attractive. But he didn't want to be attesting for men his age, he wanted to be attractive for EJ.
Robert wasn't looking at the whole picture, he focused only on the weak lips and completely ignored his soft light blue eyes and good heart. He shut the sun vizer closed still disgruntled with his appearance. Stepping out of the car he was able to see his full body reflecting off a window at a nearby store. His clothers was less than fashionable, when it came to shopping for clothes Robert chose what was cheapest and wore it till the holes had holes. Wearing a t-shirt that some what legibly read save mother earth, a pair of jeans that fit him a little loose, and 99 cent rubber sandals he walked around glancing at store windows unsure of which to enter. Robert hadn't gone shopping for clothes in years so he kind of felt like a lost puppy ( a very old puppy).
With every passing moment Robert grew a bit nervous and he considered just jumping back in his car and heading back to Yensid empty handed. But he was here to look good for EJ and that's what he was going to do. So he bravely opened the door to the next clothing store he saw and stepped right in. Upon entering he was greeted by the prodigy of fashion? Immediately Robert knew he was in the wrong store. This place was obviously for the younger crowd, Robert stood nervously his sandals glued to the floor he shifted awkwardly towards the door. Bibidibobidiboo Boutique had nice clothes but Robert was "OLD" and is just didn't seem like this was the place that could help him feel better about his appearance. But since the boy worked on main street perhaps he knew of which stores would have clothes that would make Robert fashion forward.
Robert turned towards e door and hesitated fir a moment, he turned back towards e employee and spoke. " Um..I'm a little lost could you point me in the direction of a clothing store that will fit my needs." He began to get the feeling that he should have just asked Edward to tag along, EJ had a great sense of style and probably knew exactly where to go.
It wasn't that Robert had a horrible sense of style, he just simply cared more about the enviroment than about the latest trends. In fact if tree leaves were fashionable he'd probably where nothing but leaves. So Robert stood in front of the store employee dressed like some sort of beach bum awaiting directions.
